Forbiddance
10 Minutes (Ritual: 1 Hour) – 1000 ft. Radius Sphere (Touch) – 6th Level (Abjuration) – VSM – 1 Year
You magically activate a wardstone, which lodges itself into position and weaves a spell over the area to block magical entry.
Materials: You require a Wardstone that weighs 10 lbs, typically valued at 500 gold. This spell doesn’t consume the Wardstone, but the Wardstone cannot be used again until the spell ends.
Ritual Casting Time: 1 Hour
Utility
- The Wardstone becomes immobile and emanates a magical field over an area. The area must fit inside a 1000 foot radius and not overlap with another Forbiddance effect.
- Creatures can’t teleport into the radius or enter the area through another plane. When you cast this spell, you designate a password or keyed item. A creature that speaks the password or carries the keyed item can bypass the Forbiddance spell.
- Forbiddance can be ended by casting Break Enchantment on the wardstone. The caster can also end the spell by touching the Wardstone and saying a command word. Finally, the Wardstone can be destroyed with the Disintegrate spell, which ends Forbiddance.
