You rub a mixture of talc and silver powder onto your eyelids or  above your eyes. You ask for permission to see the unseen, and your  vision shifts slightly to show you not only invisible creatures, but also ethereal creatures that might be lurking nearby. Every so often,  you see an ethereal traveler, often very frightening in appearance,  doing something that has nothing to do with you.
