Summoning

Deities and planar rulers can prevent portals created by this spell from opening in their presence or within their domains.

  • You create a portal linking an unoccupied space within range to a precise location on another plane of existence. The portal has a front and back on each plane; travel is possible only through its front.

  • Anything entering is instantly transported to the nearest unoccupied space at the portal's destination.

  • When casting the spell, you may speak the true name of a specific creature. If that creature is on another plane, the portal opens in its immediate vicinity and draws it through to the nearest unoccupied space on your side. You gain no control over the creature. It acts according to its own nature, as the DM decides - it may leave, attack, or assist you.
